Newness Abounds

Dear All Saints Family,

The Lord Jesus proclaims that He makes all things new (see Revelation 21:5), and He is working overtime here at our little slice of His Kingdom!

Some great updates to share with you all: 1) Restore and Renew, 2) Blessed Carlo, 3) Our new Middle School Youth Minister, and 4) Our new Pastoral Year Seminarian.

First, with the roof complete, the parish office joined forces with the Knights of Columbus to plan out the project of restoring our Adoration Chapel.  The damage from years of leaks was significant, but thankfully not anywhere near as bad as it could have been.  Mold experts were brought in and gave us instructions for the minimal remediation needed.  Many brother Knights gave their Labor Day to tearing down the damaged ceiling and floor tiles.  While they were at it they removed the aging ceiling tiles in the “Little Saints” cry room as well so they can be replaced with fresh ones.  Please pardon our progress as work continues!

Second, the portrait of Blessed Carlo Acutis has arrived at All Saints!  It’s better than I remember seeing it at the National Eucharistic Congress.  Once the custom plaque describing the painting arrives, we will joyfully hang and dedicate this beautiful image of the first Millennial saint!

Third, Megan Engelen is joining the team as our new Middle School Youth Minister.  Most recently she has been serving as a missionary with Life Teen up at their retreat bases in the mountains.  You are going to love her passion, creativity, and energy in bringing the Gospel to our middle schoolers!

Finally, we have the great joy this weekend of welcoming our new pastoral year seminarian, Mr. Will Whitlow.  Will hails from the fringes of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, from way down in LaGrange, GA.  After graduating from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Will entered the seminary formation program for the archdiocese and has been studying at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans.  We’ll give him an upcoming bulletin article so he can best introduce himself to you all.  Please introduce yourselves to him and welcome him to the parish!

Thank you, Lord, for all you are doing here at All Saints!

Praised be Jesus Christ, now and forever!
Blessed Carlo, pray for us!
All you holy saints of God, pray for us!

Peace in Christ,
Fr. Michael Silloway
Pastor
