Dear Friends in Christ,

I really enjoy being able to share good news with you.  The Gospel, first and foremost, but also the good news of parish achievements and accomplishments.

During the month of June we announced an initiative to add sacred art in our church depicting the Saints.  After all, we are ALL SAINTS!

About 300 of you participated in the vote to determine which 14 Saints would get pride of place, and the results are in.  Here are the Saints we have chosen as a parish:

  1. St. Francis of Assisi
  2. St. John Paul II
  3. St. Michael the Archangel
  4. St. Thérèse of Lisieux
  5. St. Padre Pio
  6. St. Anthony of Padua
  7. St. Faustina
  8. St. Peter
  9. St. Patrick
  10. St. Jude the Apostle
  11. St. Teresa of Calcutta
  12. St. Joan of Arc
  13. St. Maximilian Kolbe
  14. Bl. Carlo Acutis

The next step will be to acquire the artwork, which will be done saint by saint as funds allow.  A good few of you have made contributions already, and I am most grateful.  If you would like to help this initiative, please use the “See the Saints!” envelopes in the narthex.  If one of your favorites didn’t make this list, fear not!  We will have more opportunities to highlight the Communion of Saints around our grounds in the future.

In other news, with the roof finished (Praise the Lord!), we have started the clean-up and restoration process for the Our Lady of the Knights Adoration Chapel.  The leaks from the old roof made some serious mess, but we can now get to the work of addressing it.  The gym roof also needs some work, and once we get a few days without rain the roofers will be out to patch that up.  All of our signs have been repainted and really pop!  Nearly all our parking lot lines have been repainted and lengthened.  Landscaping projects are beautifying our grounds.  Things are coming together, and it is great to see.  I’m grateful for so many volunteers, in collaboration with our parish staff, to get so many things done.

Praised be Jesus Christ, now and forever!
All you holy saints of God, pray for us!

Peace in Christ,
Fr. Michael
Pastor
