4/18/25 Padre’s Points to Ponder

Dear All Saints Parish Family,

THE LORD IS RISEN, ALLELUIA!  HE IS TRULY RISEN, ALLELUIA!

The single most important event in the existence of the universe is the mystery we celebrate today, namely, that Jesus Christ, the Word-Made-Flesh, is alive, the Lamb slain stands as Conquerer.  That He is alive means it’s all true, it’s all real, it all matters.

Easter is not simply the celebration of an event long ago; it is the proclamation of a present and eternal truth: Jesus Christ is risen from the dead, and in Him, everything is being made new.

The Resurrection is not just about Our Lord’s life after death—it’s about new life now, His life, in us. When Jesus rose from the tomb, He didn’t just step back into the world as it was. He inaugurated a new creation. The stone rolled away was not only from His tomb, but from the hearts of all who believe. In the light of the Resurrection, our pasts are not anchors—rather they’re altars, places where God meets us and transforms our story.

No matter where you are in your journey—whether carrying grief, facing uncertainty, or feeling stuck—Easter tells us that what seems to be the end is never really the end with God. Resurrection means that what looks like death can become life, what feels broken can be healed, and what seems lost can be redeemed.

Christ’s rising is our rising. And this season calls us to live as people of the empty tomb—joyful, courageous, and deeply rooted in the hope that God is always doing something new.

So, I invite you to open your heart to that newness. Let grace surprise you. And remember: in Christ, the best is never behind us. It is always being made new.

On behalf of the whole ministerial and administrative team, I sincerely wish you all and your families a blessed and joy-filled Easter.

Praised be Jesus Christ, Our Risen Lord, now and forever!
All you holy saints of God, pray for us!

Peace in Christ,
Fr. Michael Silloway
