Chalking the door is a centuries-old custom in which Christians gather on the feast of the Epiphany to ask God’s blessing on their homes. A traditional way of blessing your home for Epiphany is to use blessed chalk to write above the home’s entrance. Bags with blessed chalk and instructions for blessing your house will be available in the narthex the weekend of January 4-5. All are encouraged to take one bag per household for this special blessing. Since the chalk has been blessed, we ask that it not be disposed of in the garbage. Please respectfully bury the blessed chalk after use.
