SENIOR SERVICES

Although memory care cafés have existed in the UK for many years, this concept is fairly new in the US. On March, 5, 2016, Amy’s Place opened in Roswell, GA, with the mission of providing respite and support services to caregivers who selflessly serve those affected with dementia and related disorders. Amy’s Place provides an opportunity for the family caregiver AND their loved one with dementia to socialize, learn and connect with those who share in the journey of caring for someone with dementia. Supporting caregivers can be a family member, friend or hired assistant. Amy’s Place also aims to reduce the stigma often associated with dementia, by offering educational events to the community. Learn more at amysplace.net, or by calling 470-349-8349.

I CARE provides DeKalb county seniors with free, safe and timely transportation to/from local medical appointments, if given 1-2 weeks notice. Volunteer drivers accompany clients inside medical offices and usually remain with them throughout their appointments. Call 404-377-2273 for a ride.
