The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men’s organization of 1.8 million members worldwide dedicated to the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. With a parish membership of over 400 men, All Saints Council #11402 is able to give charitable donations to many needy organizations each year, as well as give their time in support of them.
Our dollars are raised through several fundraising events. The most visible to the entire parish are the annual Lenten Fish Dinners. On Ash Wednesday and each Friday during Lent, the Knights serve a high-quality dinner for the parish and the neighboring community. About a thousand people enjoy this event each evening. The Vidalia Onion Sale, the Parish Pumpkin Patch Sale, and a combined annual golf tournament with the parish Men’s Club are other significant fundraisers.
The Knights give their support to organizations like Birthright, Habitat for Humanity, the Dunwoody Soap Box Derby, the Interfaith Outreach Home, Special Olympics, the Elaine Clark Center for Special Children, the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, the Emory Catholic Center, People Making Progress, Dunwoody city festivals, Dominican nuns, Diocesan seminarians, Tootsie Roll Drive for Intellectual Disabilities, “Keep Christ in Christmas” religious card sales, and many others.
Of special note is their support of parish and community youth events such as annual altar server outings, boy scout eagle badge projects, cub scout spaghetti dinners, pre-school picnics, basketball free throw and soccer kick tournaments, Desserts with Santa parties, and parish teen dinners.
Church activities include their 70-member acolyte team that serves on the altar at every parish funeral, pro-life ceremony support, deceased member memorial Masses, nativity crèche management, and other special religious ceremonies. Honor guard teams in full regalia are often featured. Religious seminars featuring Fathers for Good courses are given during the year.
There is a Business Meeting on the 1st Tuesday of Every Month 7:30-8:30 PM in the knights own Fr. McGivney Hall (the rosary precedes each meeting at 7:00 PM). Playing card socials are held on Wednesdays and special social meetings are planned for the third Tuesday each month with various topics and events. These are open to spouses and friends as well.
We extend an open invitation to all practicing Catholic men to join our organization. New members are usually initiated at a special ceremony on the last Tuesday of each month. For membership information and other information see our website at www.kc11402.org and our council event historical picture albums are saved at kofc11402.shutterfly.com.
