Thank you for welcoming me to your parish. I am Bishop Harry from the diocese of Kurunegla, Sri Lanka, where I currently run two orphanages; one for boys and one for girls.
These orphanages presently serve the needs of 60 children who have lost both their parents in death, or also by abandonment due to divorce and family squabbles. I oversee the orphanages to ensure they meet the physical and psychological needs of the children together with primary and secondary education offering them the support, protection, care and security so essential to children and teenagers alike.
Food, clothing, health care, etc. are all provided for and all is supervised by the religious sisters of Mary Immaculate.
The basic cost for running each home is about five hundred ($500) per child per year. This cost is kept low due to the great work of the sisters and their volunteers.
At this time I ask you to join us in this wonderful work of God of helping the children. Remember, in welcoming a child we welcome God Himself. If it is within your means to sponsor one child for a year or six months or a month, please consider it. First remember, even the cup of water does not go without its reward.
In closing, I thank you for your support and I ask you also to keep us in your prayers as I will also keep you in my prayers. You can keep in touch with our modern technology firstname.lastname@example.org. God Bless You All!
